As a performing artist myself, I am often asked to recommend actors for different projects. I’ve worked with a lot of people in the entertainment industry, both known and not known. For every famous person I know, there are 10 I don’t. History tells us, that most won’t make it as famous actors. They stagnate their careers and usually stop working altogether. Why? Because they can’t take it anymore.
After years of struggling to make it big, they have learned three things: 1- How to survive with minimal pay (if any), 2- How to work hard doing gigs that don’t require a lot of preparation (great for someone just starting out), 3- Methods to hustle or represent yourself as an actor in ways that will get you hired (in case you fall out and nobody wants to help you). These methods should be shared with others like my fellow struggling actors because many of them could use a little help — which is what lead me to write this book. When it comes to fame, there are two types of people: those who want it, and those who don’t. The ones who do want it, however, will do whatever they can to get it. This means that some actors might be willing to go to extremes in order to become famous.
Some actors are more eager than others for the spotlight and recognition that being a star brings. While some of these actors will settle for being famous in their hometown, others will go on to make a name for themselves across the country or even overseas.
Here are 3 not-so-famous actors who are desperate to be famous:
Zac Efron
Zac Efron is one of the most popular teen heartthrobs working today — but he’s still not quite big enough yet to be considered a bona fide celebrity. He’s starred in several hit movies like High School Musical and 17 Again made him a household name among teens across America, but he’s still not as well known among adults or people outside of his native Los Angeles County area as other stars his age like Emma Stone or Jennifer Lawrence. To help remedy this problem, he’s been making appearances on television shows like Saturday Night Live where he
Marcia Strassman
Marcia Strassman has been an actress for 40 years. She is the type of actress that doesn’t win awards but has been nominated for a primetime Emmy twice, including one in 1999 for Outstanding Character Performance in her portrayal of Fran Fine on the show “The Nanny.” Plain and simple, she gets the job done. Her simplicity might have cost her notoriety because when you look at her resume, it’s jam-packed full of supporting roles and guest appearances on popular shows. Marcia isn’t exactly begging her agent to get more work. Not yet, anyway.

David Caruso
David Caruso is currently best known for his role as Detective Horatio Caine on CSI: Miami. In the show, he portrays a bold, almost comical character, who is fond of speaking in alliteration and has quite a penchant for firearms (this wouldn’t be too unusual if Caruso didn’t have such a serious look in his eyes). It is almost like watching the numerous superheroes from Batman to Robin Hood, who despite their outrageous and unique antics are still basically law-abiding citizens.
