President Alvi urges international tech companies to invest in Pakistan

president, dr. Arif Alvi has urged international tech companies to invest in Pakistan, as the country has a huge talent pool and provides a favorable environment for foreign investment.

During a virtual meeting with technology entrepreneurs in Singapore on Friday, the president said Pakistan offered huge investment opportunities in information technology and digitization. He added that international companies should take advantage of the country’s business-friendly climate.

It was emphasized that Pakistan presented huge opportunities for technology companies to operate in the fields of app development, artificial intelligence-based digital identity solutions, digital payments, e-commerce and digital remittance platforms. It was also emphasized that Pakistan’s technical talent was a major attraction in the global market.

dr. Stressing the importance of adopting technology-based solutions, Alvi said companies should leverage emerging technologies, especially artificial intelligence and big data solutions, to take advantage of business opportunities in Pakistan.

He said the government of Pakistan focused on digitization, data integration and cybersecurity while facilitating foreign investors through one-stop shops. He said the government is committed to facilitating foreign investment in the technology sector by establishing special technology zones and improving the ease of doing business in the country.

The meeting was attended by Special Technology Zones Authority (STZA) Chairman, Amer Hashmi, Jeff Chef of the Advance Intelligence Group, Zaki Sumar and Umair Javed via video link.
