MOSCOW: A senior Russian military official said on Monday that Russia was ready to open fire on foreign ships and submarines illegally entering its territorial waters, Interfax news agency reported.
However, such a decision would only be made at the “highest level”, the official said.
The United States on Saturday denied conducting military operations in Russian territorial waters after Moscow said a Russian naval vessel had chased an American submarine into Russian waters in the Pacific Ocean.
