Building a Facebook Following for Photographers

A while ago, I wrote about using Facebook advertisements to boost the number of people who like the Facebook page. My results for advertising were generally negative. I promised to investigate other ways to grow your following on Facebook organically.

If you didn’t go through the previous article, I encourage you to read it now to understand what we’re looking for when collecting likes on a page. Although I’m not a “social media “guru,” “wizard,” “expert,” or “specialist,” I’ve discovered specific strategies superior to others for building your fan base, and that’s the reason I’ll share with you in this post.

Content is King

Though I’ve seen numerous engagement Facebook followers uk with subpar images amass an impressive number of followers, offering high-quality content is the best method of gaining many fans. In our case, this means fantastic photos, practical techniques, and original content.

Today, there are large beautiful images and engaging content to attract your readers’ attention. But to be competitive, it is also necessary to be captivating and exciting. This is, unfortunately, the most difficult to achieve as it demands time commitment, skill, and discipline. The skills will improve over time, so be prepared for your content to grow, but it’s the discipline part in which most people fail.

Make use of other sources.

If you just put up your Facebook page online and hope people will visit it in large numbers with no other requirements, it is the truth. One of the best methods to increase your followers is to post your Facebook page’s details wherever possible. Examples include Flickr, 500px, 1x, your website, etc. For instance, every photo I upload on 500px contains my Facebook URL in the image’s description.

With more than 150,000 photos viewed on 500px, it’s an excellent and non-cost source of traffic for my Facebook page. It has an 0.2 percent conversion rate. For every 500 views, I’ll average one likes on Facebook. It may not seem to be a lot, but with 150k views, that’s 300 friends, and most of them are very engaged with my content, making them more critical.

When you use external websites, ensure that you include the clickable version of your Facebook URL, not only the URL’s text. There are many times I see images with the Facebook URL, but I need to duplicate it and then paste it into the address bar to access it. The more difficult it is for people to navigate to your page, the less likely they will be able to do it. It only takes a single page of HTML code to insert the clickable link into your site and can dramatically boost the number of visitors to your site.

Use Other Pages

While I’m against the practice of saturating other pages with images or links, some pages are specifically designed for this kind of purpose. You can find photo-aggregation and publication pages that let you upload your photo and upload it to their feeds if chosen. They usually have engagement Facebook likes uk that range from 5,000 to 100,000 range, so your image’s reach is quite broad If it’s selected.

A few examples are ArtFreelance, MegaShot, and JC & A Elite. You can also check out the pages of camera manufacturers and magazine pages, which permit you to upload your images and hold contests regularly. In the case of MegaShot, for instance, when my photo is uploaded to MegaShot, I’ll usually receive anywhere from 15 to 50 new followers for my account, contingent on how popular the image is.

This is a reference to the point of generating high-quality content because if the images you create aren’t high-quality, they’ll not be published, and that will not work.
