Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates has come to Pakistan for the first time. The billionaire visited Islamabad today and met Prime Minister Imran Khan. The two discussed cases related to polio eradication and other important issues.
He praised Pakistan for reducing polio in the country to the point where it was completely polio-free for a year. He praised polio workers and the cooperation of parents across the country.
The Microsoft executive said Pakistan has the full support of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and will continue to help Pakistan in the future.
It’s no news that Bill Gates is one of the richest people in the world among Mark Zuckerburg, Jeff Bezos and Elon Musk.
His current net worth is a staggering $131.4 billion, making him wealthier than more than 130 countries around the world, including Pakistan. Yes, you read that right, his net worth right now is literally above Pakistan’s entire annual budget, which is currently estimated at just $48 billion for the 2021-2022 period.
However, he is only richer than Pakistan in terms of the country’s annual budget. When it comes to gross domestic product (GDP), which is one of the roots of a country’s total net worth, Pakistan is not as poor as you might think.
Our country’s GDP was $280 billion at the end of 2021, which is well above Bill Gates’ net worth, but alarmingly close to Elon Musk’s current value of $249 billion.
