Cashew is a type of tree whose fruits, after drying, give production in the form of nuts. It is considered very popular for dry fruits. Cashew is used in food, along with it it is also used for making and decorating many types of sweets. For example, cashew nuts are ground and used to make Kaju Katli sweets. Apart from this, cashew is also used in making liquor. That’s why the cashew crop is commercially grown on a large scale and is also a big export business.

How to cultivate cashew
Cashew cultivation was first done in Brazil. It grows well in tropical places. It is considered good to cultivate it in areas with normal temperatures. Cashew farming should be done at an altitude of 750 meters above sea level. For the production of fruits, its crop has to be protected from moisture or cold because its yield is affected due to water and cold.
Soil Needs
In its cultivation, sea-level red and laterite soil is considered good for its crop. For this reason, it is produced more in the coastal areas of South India. Climate & Temperature

Field Preparation

About 500 holes can be prepared in one hectare field, keeping a distance of 4 meters between each pit.

The grafted plant starts bearing fruit after three years.
Planting Method
The pits are prepared a month before the cashew plants are planted in the field. After this, the weeds present in the pits should be removed by weeding before producing the plants in the holes. After this, a small pit should be made in these pits, and plants should be planted in it, then after that, it should be covered well from all sides. Irrigation

Planting cashew plants in the rainy season does not require the first irrigation. After the end of the rainy season, they should be rinsed for 10 to 12 days in the winter season.
