BENGALURU: An Audi driver ran over a dog in a viral video and caused a huge outcry from netizens.
Strict action was taken against the man who was driving the car.
The incident took place on January 26, and after two days a police case was filed. The police have said that the suspect, 23-year-old Adhi, has been arrested. According to the report, the suspect is the grandson of a prominent businessman from Bengaluru, NDTV reported.
A viral video showed the Audi driver pointing it at the dog and deliberately driving over it.
“We found a stray dog that had been missing for two days. We then started looking for him. We learned about the horrific incident through a CCTV camera. When we got to the scene, we found his body lying there,” Badri said. a resident of the place where the incident took place.
Badri took the body of the deceased dog to a vet for an autopsy.
Actor-politician Divya Spandana, expressing her anger at the incident, tweeted: “Has the car been impounded? Does he have a driver’s license? Was he under the influence of drugs/alcohol? The complainant was threatened at the police station and the police did nothing. – is action being taken?”
