HMD Global has launched a new feature phone designed for Africa called Nokia 105 African Edition, similar to the model launched in 2019.
Nokia 105 was first introduced in 2019 and last year the company introduced a refreshed version equipped with 4G connectivity. The new model has nothing comparable, but retains the durable design that the company’s phones are known for.
Design & Display
One of the best-selling feature phones in the world, the Nokia 105 comes with a 1.77-inch QVGA display and has 10 games preloaded, including the popular Snake.
Interior and storage
The handset is powered by a Unisoc 6531E processor coupled with 4MB of RAM. The Nokia 105 African Edition also has 4MB of storage space on board. The smartphone Series S30+ OS only supports 2G connectivity.
Nokia says the device’s memory can hold up to 2,000 contacts and up to 500 text messages.
Battery & Prices
The device is equipped with an 800mAh battery that lasts up to 18 days and can keep the device going if you are on the phone for up to 12 hours. The battery can be charged with a MicroUSB connector on the top and features a built-in flashlight.
The Nokia 105 African Edition will go on sale in Africa soon, while the pricing and availability of the new edition is unknown at this time.
