Last month, we reported that the Samsung Galaxy S22 is expected to cost around Rs. 170,000 in Pakistan. This speculation was based on European prices for the flagship, but we now have a more accurate figure for Pakistan.
It is like that because Jon Prosser from Front Page Tech, which has been very accurate with its leaks in the past, just shared the US pricing for the Galaxy S22. He says the vanilla S22 will start at $800 and since Pakistan is tracking US prices, we expect it to cost somewhere around Rs. 140,000.
The $800 price tag matches the Galaxy S21’s launch price, so older reports claiming the S22 will cost the same as the S21 could be true after all. prosser claims the S22 Plus starts at $999 and the S21 Ultra charges $1,199 in the United States.
If the leak is true, it’s a good move by Samsung as it faces stiff competition from both the iPhone 13 series and Google Pixel 6 series. Xiaomi 12 is also about to go global soon.
The tipster has also revealed the launch and shipping dates for the Galaxy S22 series. He says that the flagship range will be available for pre-order on February 9, but only the S22 Ultra will ship on February 25. The S22 and S22 Plus are expected to roll out later on March 11.
