Indonesia provides coal for CPEC energy projects – Webeys

Pakistan Adam M Tugio, Indonesia’s coal sector is well developed and the country can supply coal to Pakistan for energy projects under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).

During a meeting with businessmen in Lahore, the ambassador added that his country could also supply coal to the domestic large-scale manufacturing industry.

The meeting aimed to promote bilateral cooperation and increase Pakistan’s imports of Indonesian coal. He also stated that the Pakistani government is paying special attention to infrastructure development and energy plans as part of the CPEC, with coal being an important part of the energy projects.

He believed that a consortium of Indonesian exporters could easily meet much of Pakistan’s coal demand by trading with local businessmen.

Pakistan received coal imports from South Africa, Russia, Australia, Afghanistan and China, he said, in addition to Indonesia.

Indonesia’s coal exports to Pakistan could reach $1 billion, according to the ambassador.
