Mr. Srivastava was appointed as the Special Commissioner for Law and Order of the Delhi Police during the riots in Delhi. He was asked to join with immediate effect to bring under control the deteriorating law and order situation in northeast Delhi. And, needless to say, he had immediate results.
Career
Before being appointed as Delhi Police Commissioner, Mr. Srivastava the DG (Training) of CRPF. He had the right to personalize CRPF to tackle Maoism and terrorism, with a special focus on Jammu and Kashmir and the Maoist-affected districts.
He also has a fruitful and highly successful career as ADG Western Zone in Jammu and Kashmir. Operation All Out was his idea that had literally ended all top leaders of Hizbul Mujahideen.
As DCP of Central Delhi, he had started the concept of the Aman Committee to ease tensions in the communities. During the Delhi 2020 riots, the Aman Committee played an important role in controlling violence and normalizing the situation.

- There is also a stain on SN Srivastava’s rather distinguished career. He was
the chief of the special cell of the Delhi Police when Liaquat Shah was arrested on terrorism charges† Later, in 2013, NIA had accused Special Cell of framed Liyaqat Shah in a fake case. - Srivastava was then removed from the head of the special cell after response from the NIA.
- Sachidananda Srivastava during his college days was a good bowler with an average pace. However, he had decided to prepare for Civil Services after completing B. Tech. instead of trying to make a career in the world of Cricket.
